Happy New Year!
January 2, 2008
Hi, all - the holidays are over and I can finally relax a bit. Nothing on the horizon, nowhere to be. Can finally catch up on all the little loose ends that need to be taken care of. Can finally get better sleep since I’m not working horrid mall hours.
Can finally start posting to the blog again.
The pictures from the holidays need to be cleaned up, but fear not - they will be posted before the week’s end. 2008 holds a few interesting photo opportunities, and though I have no concrete current plans to go back to Beirut due to their political stalemate, I won’t go so far as to say the idea is off the table. I know it’s a little crazy, but I really want to go back and finish what I started.
Other than that I am plowing ahead with the basic game plan: I am spending the next two years figuring out who I am and what I’m doing, and by 2010 I hope to be well on my way to doing it (career change? hometown change? other? we’ll see). The clock is ticking a little louder than it used to, and it is high time to decide what the future holds - and put major effort towards making it happen.
So a Happy New Year to all, and though I will still be working unfortunate hours I am going to try to program in more time to be “around”.
I promise.

wow!
November 9, 2007
I have always been rather suspicious of Wish Lists. You know, those bridal registries for the rest of us that allows one to catalog all the things they want but aren’t currently willing to spring for.
I started one at Amazon to keep track of all the out-of-print Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs releases that I hope to acquire someday. They range from dirt cheap to unbelievably expensive, but as with all things second hand the market fluctuates and prices go up and down daily. Every now and then I’ll hunt around to see if there’s a spectacular deal on a title I’m after.
There’s a couple of links sprinkled around my blog that reference my wish list. It’s not a bad way to find a gift for someone if you’re totally stuck. But again, I’m suspicious of them. Besides my loved ones who often get fed up asking me about gift ideas, I couldn’t imagine anyone actually using it.
Until now!

In my mail today arrived a shiny, sexy copy of Queen’s The Game. No info, no return address except that of the Amazon Marketplace seller. It’s in fantastic condition - give the seller good feedback if you’re reading this - it even has its original Lift-Lock case, which break incredibly easy and are no longer available! It is ripping as I type to be dumped onto the ‘Pod.
Where did it come from? Who’s sending me anonymous gifts? Does Queen have anything to do with it? Should I be worried that “Another One Bites The Dust” is on this record, like some kind of sinister message?
Don’t know. Don’t care. Thanks, anonymous wish-list gift-giver. I love my Mobile Fidelity discs.
